Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the tourism industry of Brunei Darussalam which is one of the industries employed by the government for diversifying the economy. This is done as a preemptive move in case the oil and nature gas sources are a drainer. Although Brunei is a small country, it has many products and tourist spots, either man-made or natural. However, Brunei faces various problems in the development of its tourism industry even beforehand. This paper is based on the field work done from 2005 till 2007 under the research project “East ASEAN grown (BIMP-EAGA): Between Hope and Realityâ€.
