Chen Yoke Lim’s works are widely acclaimed for his satirical humor and use of allegory to critique social and political realities. In works such as Dahua Xi You and Xin xin Yuyan, Chen employs absurd plots to expose systemic issues within Malaysian society. Beyond mere entertainment, his fictional narratives serve as a lens through which readers can reflect on deeper societal truths. This paper examines Chen’s narrative techniques and explores how his work negotiates the boundary between fiction and reality within a restrictive political landscape.
