About the Journal

Security and Information Applications (JSIA) is the official open-access journal of the Centre of Research for Cyber Security and Network (CSNET), Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaya. JSIA publishes original research articles, reviews, short communications and case studies on applied, deployment-conscious research at the intersection of cybersecurity and information systems. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review, and articles are published continuously in one annual volume.

Submissions bridging both security and information systems perspectives, particularly from researchers in Malaysia and the wider Southeast Asian region, are especially encouraged.

Journal at a Glance

  • Open access: articles are freely available on publication under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) licence.
  • No publication fees: JSIA does not charge any article processing charges (APC) to authors.
  • Peer review: double-blind review by at least two independent expert reviewers.
  • Continuous publication: one volume per year, no issue numbers; articles are published online as soon as the editorial process is complete.
  • Publication ethics: aligned with Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
  • Manuscript format: official JSIA template (LaTeX or Word), two-column, 10 pt Times New Roman, maximum 12 pages including references, tables and figures.
